[BOONE, Iowa] — The Iowa Attorney General's Office determined that a Boone police officer's actions in a deadly shooting last month were legally justified.

On the evening of September 6, an officer noticed a pickup truck with a broken tail light traveling on Highway 30 and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, Camryn Stonehocker, refused to pull over, leading police on a 20-mile pursuit.

Upon stopping, Stonehocker exited the vehicle with a knife and threatened another officer.

He was shot and later died while being transported to the hospital.
