[WATERLOO, Iowa] — A Black Hawk County supervisor is continuing his official duties following his arrest on two counts of sexual abuse last week.

Christopher Schwartz was arrested last Wednesday and released shortly after posting bond. Despite the charges, Schwartz appeared virtually at the first supervisor's meeting since his arrest.

During the meeting, the board discussed a local bridge project before entering a closed session. There have been no known calls for Schwartz to resign.

Attempts to reach Schwartz for comment have been unsuccessful. He has not been convicted of a crime at this time.

Under Iowa Code, a county supervisor could be removed from office if convicted of a felony. The Iowa Attorney General's Office is handling the case.
