SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - A meeting in South Hadley is underway as health officials and convenience store owners discuss a proposed nicotine ban, which could significantly impact local businesses.
The proposed measure, known as the 'Nicotine-Free Generation' measure, aims to prohibit the sale of nicotine products to individuals born on or after a certain date.
This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, and nicotine pouches.
Store owners have expressed concerns that the ban could lead to the creation of a dangerous and illicit market for nicotine products.
