(WAND) - Portions of Macon and DeWitt Counties that were without power Tuesday evening have mostly been restored by Ameren.
According to the Ameren Illinois outage map , 1,369 Ameren customers were affected in DeWitt County, and 953 were impacted in Macon County.
The map indicates that the main communities impacted are Clinton, Maroa and Wapella.
Ameren told WAND News that over 2,000 customers lost power in the Clinton area around 7:30 p.m., when crews found damage to equipment. The company added that power to most of the impacted customers was restored around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
