The UK faces a staggering 742-mile blast of rain AND snow this month. WX Charts maps and charts show parts of Scotland are anticipating snowfall on October 29. Further afield, and widespread rain is anticipated - all the way to the south coast.

The projections come from WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data. The predictions have been mirrored by Ventusky, a rival forecaster, as well as Netweather TV.

Areas around Inverness and Portree will see almost four inches of snow at 6pm on October 29, the maps show. Blotches of white have been seen north of the border, with central Scotland at risk.
