CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Shreveport man was arrested in 2023 for a robbery where he attacked and forced headphones from a victim during a robbery, and now a jury has determined his fate.

A Caddo Parish jury found Arnold Ballard Jr., 49, of Shreveport guilty of simple robbery on Tuesday.

The charges stem from an incident in September 2023, when Ballard assaulted a victim at a safe haven for the homeless in Shreveport.

During the attack, he struck the man multiple times and forcibly took his personal belongings, including a cell phone and headset, after the victim attempted to call the police.

The trial included testimony from the victim and a sergeant with the Shreveport Police Department.
