CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WFRV) - Officers in Wisconsin are reminding residents about littering after discovering multiple items discarded on city property.
Responding to a littering complaint, officers found several items scattered in a wooded area, including what appeared to be a large couch.
The owner of the items has been identified. Deputies say any individuals who violate the city ordinance could receive citations, potentially daily, if the litter is not cleaned up.
City Ordinance 9.17 prohibits throwing glass, garbage, rubbish, waste, slop, dirty water, noxious liquids, or other litter or unwholesome substances on city streets, alleys, highways, public parks, other city property, private property not owned by the person, or the surface of any body of water within the city.
