RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a suspect after reports of people being shot with paintball guns in the Two Notch Road and Northeast areas.

Officers announced 18-year-old Nasir Champion has been taken into custody.

Deputies had said they received multiple reports in the past 48 hours of individuals being hit or shot at by paintball guns while out in public.

One reported incident happened around 7:35 p.m. Tuesday outside the Journeys store at Town Center Place at the Village at Sandhill. According to a sheriff’s report, a woman told deputies she was loading her child into the backseat of her car when she was struck on her lower back.
