Fresh figures from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) reveal that 4,000 face-to-face assessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) took place in August.
This number is anticipated to climb as the DWP has previously signalled that in-person health evaluations for PIP will expand as part of its proposed welfare changes, though assessments will continue to be carried out via telephone and video call, based on individual claimant situations.
Over 3.8 million individuals throughout England and Wales are currently receiving PIP payments ranging from £29.20 to £187.45 weekly, equivalent to £116.80 or £749.80 per four-week payment cycle, reported the Daily Record .
