UPDATE: Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a house fire that occurred in the 100 block of Gillfield Court in Lexington County on the morning of Oct. 14, as Donna Jones Hunter, 66, of Lexington.

According to Coroner Fisher, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy is scheduled for Oct. 15.

Another occupant of the residence, believed to be Hunter's husband, was transported to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation by the Town of Lexington Police Department, the Lexington County Fire Department, the State Fire Marshall’s Office, and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
