BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) - The National Weather Service office in New Orleans/Baton Rouge confirmed four tornadoes touched down in the early morning hours of Oct. 6 in southeast Louisiana.
The first tornado touched down in southern Livingston Parish, southeast of Denson, just after midnight. The EF-0 tornado did minor damage to vegetation with estimated wind speeds of 80mph.
The tornado was identified using high-resolution satellite imagery. This weak tornado remained away from any structures, though a weak but conclusive tornado debris signature was visible on KHDC (Hammond) radar imagery, which aligned with intermittent minor vegetation over the marsh. Most notably, a few trees were visibly displaced on the bank of Blind River.
