HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut Commission on Community Service, also known as Serve Connecticut, has established the Serve Connecticut Community Impact Award to recognize high school students who give back.
The youth service initiative was created to encourage service and volunteerism among Connecticut teens this school year.
Gov. Ned Lamont and Connecticut Office of Higher Education Commissioner Timothy Larson announced the initiative Tuesday.
Next May, the award will be given to students who document at least 20 hours of service across four unique projects. Students can register on the InnerView Youth Service Platform , which keeps track of service hours and puts together a digital service resume they can use for future applications.
