Environment Canada issued a frost advisory for several areas west of Toronto, warning of a cold Thursday morning.

“Frost may damage frost-sensitive fruit trees and vegetable plants,” the national agency said Wednesday.

“Temperatures may fall to near the freezing mark early Thursday morning, particularly for areas inland from the Great Lakes.”

The frost advisory was issued in Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington and southern Niagara region, including Niagara Falls and Welland.

People in these communities are advised to take preventive measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
