Hundreds of thousands of YouTube users across the country reported issues with the video-sharing website Wednesday afternoon, including in Chicago.
According to the website Downdetector , nationwide reports of problems with YouTube started around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday. By 6:40 p.m., over 320,000 users reported issues with the platform.
An outage map on Downdetector showed problems with the platform were also reported by users in Seattle, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, among other cities.
The cause of the problems with the platform was not immediately known.
Users reported that the website was glitchy and they had problems with videos playing out.
YouTube did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
