More than $66 million in tax credits have been awarded to rehabilitate a 15-story residential building in Trenton that will provide affordable housing for 196 families.
The award was made in September to Rowan Preservation, LLC by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority .
The project was approved the project for tax credit awards under the Aspire Program and the Historic Property Reinvestment Program .
Rowan Towers, located at 620 West State Street, will undergo extensive renovations to transform the existing building into modern affordable housing units.
All 196 apartments, which include studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, will receive project-based vouchers.
