GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) — You may have noticed more traffic enforcement officers on Cherry Blossom Way and I-75 in Scott County this past week.
Georgetown police say they identified a need to patrol the area due to the high number of crashes they’ve recorded there since the start of the year.
Chief Darin Allgood says they were out in this area last Thursday and in just four hours they conducted more than 100 traffic stops.
“We did issue well over 100 citations,” Allgood said.
63 crashes recorded this year
They’re not out there to meet a quota or put a wrench in your day. Chief Allgood with Georgetown police says they’re out there to keep you safe.
“We identified around 63 crashes since the beginning of the year,” he said.
63 crashes that were mainly in the stretch of highway between
