Brianna Henn, a North Henderson High School senior from Hooper’s Creek, is remembered by her family as a leader among her peers and an example of strong Christian faith who always encouraged those around her.

“She was a major light,” Alice Wilkie, Henn’s aunt who also spoke on behalf of her parents, Bryan and Canissa Henn, told the Times-News Oct. 15.

Brianna, who would have turned 18 Nov. 8, died in a car crash Oct. 13 on Mills Gap Road.

She’s also survived by her younger sister, Courtney Henn.

Brianna was deeply involved at Woodland Terrace Missionary Baptist Church, where her father was a pastor, and at school as a member of the North Henderson tennis team and president of the school’s Health Occupations Students of America club and Hype Team, which promotes school spirit, accordi
