BOISE, Idaho — A popular contest where Ada County residents come up with the best name for a snowplow is making a return before the winter season.

The third annual " Name a Plow " contest, hosted by the Ada County Highway District (ACHD), invites residents to submit creative names for its snow plows. Officials said submissions will be accepted through the district's website until Oct. 22. After the submission period ends, ACHD will narrow down the entries for public voting from Oct. 24-30.

Highway district officials said the creator of the winning name will receive a $100 gift card and that the name will be displayed on a snowplow blade. You must be 18 to enter, but adults can submit a name for their children.
