Homeowners associations in northern Glendale are adding to the city’s available license plate reader network, agreeing to install cameras that monitor cars driving through the subdivisions.
The Flock Safety cameras have been in use by the city of Glendale and other cities and police departments in the West Valley, but local homeowners association are joining that network as residents seek more safety in their neighborhoods.
The Arrowhead Lakes community first discussed the cameras three years ago, HOA board vice president Brian Kelley said.
These cameras became a more practical, less expensive solution to increasing crime and trespassing in the upscale community. Arrowhead Lakes’ HOA approved and installed 16 cameras at community entrances a little more than two years ago.
