The Town of Warren was recently lauded once more as a "Tree City USA," marking the 23rd consecutive year it has garnered the distinction.
Tree City USA is a national recognition program sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation. It acknowledges communities for their commitment to urban forestry. To qualify, a community must meet four standards: have a tree board or department; a community tree ordinance; a forestry program with a specific annual budget; and an Arbor Day proclamation and observance.
The program provides direction and national recognition for communities that effectively manage their public tree resources, while promoting a framework for healthy tree care.
