CHESTER, N.J. (PIX11) -- It's that sweet spot of the year where beautiful blue skies blanket seas of orange pumpkins. For New Jersey's farms, that's a winning color combination.

"I've grown up my whole life on the farm," said Rebekah Alstede-Modery, co-owner of Alstede Farms, "so we know our September and October months are our busiest months."

Alstede Farms is expecting thousands to visit this weekend, after what was for many farms a Columbus Day washout.

Farms like this one typically circle Columbus Day weekend as the marquee event of the Dall. But with last weekend's weather changing plans for a lot of families, this weekend could end up being the big ticket.
