GREENSBORO, N.C. — Multiple “No Kings” demonstrations are planned across the Triad on Saturday as part of a nationwide movement calling for the preservation of democracy and opposition to authoritarian leadership.
Events are scheduled to take place across the U.S. on Oct. 18, with protests in Greensboro planned along West Wendover Avenue and outside the Guilford County Courthouse. In Winston-Salem, demonstrators are set to gather in front of City Hall.
Indivisible Guilford County organized the Wendover Avenue protest, calling it “No Kings 2.0.” Organizers said they chose to host a three-mile-long sidewalk protest instead of a traditional downtown rally, like the one held in High Point in June , to gain more visibility.
