OMAHA, Neb. ( WOWT /Gray News) - Omaha police had to be contacted after a child reportedly brought a loaded gun to a day care for show-and-share.

According to a message received by families from the day care, staff told families a child brought the gun to school for show-and-share in a bag in their backpack.

The child brought their backpack to the carpet area and emptied it, including the contents of a “belt bag” which included the gun.

The teacher secured the gun, and it was removed from the classroom. Then, police were contacted, the message read.

No one was harmed, the staff shared.
