GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at Taco Bell at 7410 West Newberry Road in Gainesville to reports of a man bleeding from his face.

Upon their arrival, they spoke with the man, 35-year-old Richard Lawane, who had multiple bleeding scratches on his face and claimed he had been jumped before revealing that his mother attacked him.

Deputies say they spoke to his mother at the tent where the two reside, located behind the BP Gas Station at 7401 West Newberry Road.
