Indivisible Northeast Indiana co-founder Jim Carpenter today estimated 8,000 people turned out for the "No Kings" protest outside the Allen County Courthouse this afternoon.

Not long after the protest began, Carpenter said the crowd estimate was about 5,000. Less than a couple hours later, he said it was an estimated 8,000, with many participants not just immediately outside the courthouse, but congregating on a long stretch down Clinton Street.

More than 2,700 demonstrations, including 55 in Indiana, are taking place nationwide today. The protests are in response to the initiatives of President Donald J. Trump, including the use of military force in American cities, immigration policies.
