SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning after being dropped off at Sherman Oaks Hospital, police said.
It happened just after midnight on Van Nuys Boulevard between Huston and Addison streets.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man had just been dropped off at Sherman Oaks Hospital following a mental health emergency.
After he was dropped off, he ran onto the street and jumped in front of a black Tesla Model Y, police said.
The driver of the Tesla fled the scene travelign south and remains at large.
Authorities said the victim is a 62-year-old from Ventura County, but his name has not been released. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged
