A probe is underway after a car was allegedly driven at a police vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Officers were called to Provan Road in Carntyne at around 5.40pm on Saturday, October 18, following reports of a car driving dangerously.

Police at the scene say that a silver Peugeot 207 was driven at them on Cumbernauld Road. A short pursuit is alleged to have then taken place.

It ended when the vehicle crashed. There were no reports of injuries.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, October 20.

Constable Rose Richmond said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.
