CLINTON, N.Y. — A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly threatening to kill a member of Congress, according to a press release from New York state police.

Christopher Moynihan, 34, of Clinton, was arrested at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, after state police were advised by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force that Moynihan “had made threats to kill a member of Congress,” the release said.

State police did not say which member of Congress Moynihan allegedly threatened to kill.

Moynihan was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony, and sent to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $30,000 bond, or $80,000 partially-secured bond.

Moynihan is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Oct. 23. Originally Published: October 19, 2025 at 2:5
