Halloween still has yet to take place, but supporters in Mount Clemens have already been hard at work in a behind-the-scenes role preparing for this year’s Santa Parade.
A well-known Mount Clemens couple celebrating their 50th marriage anniversary have been named to lead this year’s procession, which is also marking a half century of making holiday memories along Main Street in the city’s downtown.
Nelson Jackson, who retired after 40 years in education, and his wife, Diane, were recently chosen as grand marshals for the Nov. 22 event. Committee members said the couple has been “cornerstones of education and our community.”
“Thank you both for being willing to serve as our Grand Marshals and a big thank you to your daughter for convincing you to do it,” the group said in a recent social
