ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Thousands of people filled Washington Park for this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. This event marks it's 30 years here in the Capital Region and organizers say they’re hoping to beat last year’s total fundraised of more than $850,000 raised to support patients and research.

"One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. So, whether it's a family member or you know the individual, this cause is near and dear to so many people's hearts," said Lizzie Hunter, Executive Director of the American Cancer Society.

The breast cancer spirit was felt all around Washington Park as many families, friends, breast cancer survivors, and more all came pinked out for the cause.
