LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

House fire in Middletown sends one person to the hospital, fire officials say.

Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS were called out to a structure fire in the 300 block of Barcelona Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

When crews arrived on the scene, they found a two-story house on fire. They were able to contain the fire to the house, and 33 firefighters had the fire under control in 40 minutes.

A man, the sole occupant of the house, made it out of the house before crews arrived on scene, but was taken to the hospital for what officials called non-life-threatening thermal injuries.

The man has been displaced due to the damage caused by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
