LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A local nonprofit is working to end period poverty across Kentuckiana, and on Sunday, the community stepped up to help.

The Dining for Dignity fundraiser was held at the UAW Local 862 on Fern Valley Road.

The event was in support of the organization For Lady's Sake, a group that partners with the community to make menstrual products readily available for people in need.

Guests had a chance to listen to speakers and take part in a silent auction.

WLKY's Alexis Matthews served as emcee of the event.
