Glendale police were investigating the discovery of two bodies found inside a vehicle near 51st and Peoria avenues.

At about 10:30 a.m. Oct. 19, officers responded to a call from family members who located the bodies, according to Officer Moroni Mendez, a spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department.

Police arrived shortly after and identified the people in the vehicle as two men, but no further details, like age, have been released, according to Mendez.

The bodies were in varying stages of decomposition, but there was no obvious cause of death, Mendez said.

One of the men had not been heard from since Oct. 17, which prompted his family to use phone tracking software to locate him inside the vehicle.

The other man was believed to be a friend or acquaintance.
