LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas-- The Department of Public Safety has confirmed that one person was pronounced deceased after an overnight crash Sunday near IH-27, southbound frontage road in New Deal, Texas.
According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the preliminary investigation found that Wyatt Reese Golden, 20, from Amarillo, was driving southbound on the Interstate 27 frontage road. Golden veered off the left side of the roadway, then overcorrected to the right, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. The car rolled over before coming to a stop.
Golden was pronounced deceased at the scene.
DPS reported that road conditions were clear during the crash, and Golden was not wearing a seatbelt.
