ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A bicyclist has been hospitalized with critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday night.
According to the Rochester Police Department, officers responded to the corner of Scio Street and Woodward Street for a report of a bicyclist struck at 7 p.m. A man was found in the street with injuries to his upper body and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. He is currently listed in critical condition.
Officers learned during their investigation into the incident that the bicyclist was riding in the middle of the street, traveling north on Scio Street, when he attempted to get to the west sidewalk. In his attempt, he was struck by a vehicle traveling south.
