A south suburban man was arrested after an accidental shooting left a woman injured on the campus of Bradley University in Peoria, authorities said.
Edward Traywick Jr., 19, was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon, no Firearm Owners Identification Card, possession of a firearm under 21 years old and reckless discharge of a firearm, reported WEEK-TV, the NBC affiliate in Peoria.
Bradley University, in an advisory issued early Sunday, said at around 2:15 a.m., police responded to a shooting at Geisert Hall, an on-campus residence hall. According to the university, 911 calls revealed an 18-year-old woman was shot, and multiple people were attempting to take her to the hospital in a vehicle.
