DESOTO, Texas — Two 20-year-old men were arrested early Friday after a gunfire exchange in the parking lot of a DeSoto apartment complex, police said.

According to the DeSoto Police Department, officers responded around 12:55 a.m. to reports of shots fired in the 1200 block of East Pleasant Run Road. The department’s Shot Spotter detection system first alerted police, followed by several 911 calls reporting gunfire and people running through the lot.

Responding officers arrived within three minutes and found more than 30 shell casings scattered across the scene, according to DeSoto police. During a sweep of nearby units, they located an adult male who said he had been the target of the shooting but was uninjured.
