HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A Connecticut state senator is facing criticism after posting a photo at a ‘No Kings’ rally on social media.
Senator Saud Anwar, who represents District Three, posted the picture on Saturday while attending a rally as part of a nationwide protest of the Trump administration.
The sign he held reads “Cholesterol, do your job.”
Republican Senate Leader Stephen Harding responded to the post in a statement to Channel 3.
“Disgusting. Hateful. CT Senate Democrats must immediately remove Sen. Saud Anwar as Chair of the legislature’s Public Health Committee. And Gov. Ned Lamont should demand it,” Harding said. “This man is a doctor: He is someone supposedly entrusted with protecting health. Yet, he just posed, with a wide grin on his face, with a sign wishing death upon
