SEARCY COUNTY, Ark. (KY3) -A 13-year-old boy died from a fall at Buffalo National River Saturday morning.

According to officials with Buffalo National River, the boy died from a fall near Brewer Bluff.

Officials said the boy was with a friend when he lost his footing.

The Searcy County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident around 11 a.m. Park staff, Buffalo National River Search and Rescue volunteers, Marshall Fire Department, Harrison Fire Department, and Survival Flight arrived on scene, according to officials.

Officials said Harrison Fire crews repelled 260 feet over the edge of the bluff while park rangers made it to the scene from the river. The teenager was found unresponsive.
