Los Angeles Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning that left a local man dead.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on October 19, a silver 2007-2008 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Arleta Avenue near Wentworth Street when it struck a pedestrian walking along the roadway. The driver did not stop, render aid, or identify themselves, as required by law, and was last seen continuing north on Arleta Avenue.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the pedestrian, a 57-year-old Hispanic man and resident of Arleta, to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
