NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – As the third annual Apple Festival wraps up, organizers hope it's just the beginning of a new family tradition. Three years ago, the Dudley family took over 140 acres of one of New Mexico's most well-known mountain ranges. The property was once used as a summer camp before becoming the Manzano Mountain Retreat in the early 2000s.
Apple Festival Director, Marie Dudley, says her family saw even more potential when they took over. "We recognized the beauty of the property and we just wanted other people to be able to share in that beauty and enjoy, kinda, the magic of the setting," said Dudley.
