ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – In the wake of high-profile incidents on the University of New Mexico (UNM) campus, security has been a top concern. However, the university has been enhancing its security measures in ways that many may not realize.

When people think of security, they often envision guards and gates. But UNM is also employing more subtle approaches.

"When you have spaces that look like they have been forgotten, those are the types of spaces that end up really being attractive for criminal activity or bad behavior,” said Rosie Dudley, Director of Campus Capital & Space Planning with UNM.
