Modernisation proposals at Glasgow Airport could see flight times cut and the impact on those living on flight paths reduced.
The Scottish Airspace Modernisation consultation, which opens today (October 20), is seeking locals' views on the proposed changes which would affect departure and arrival routes below 7,000ft.
It is part of a nationwide programme, required by Government policy and the Civil Aviation Authority’s Airspace Modernisation Strategy, to enable quicker, quieter and cleaner flights within the UK. The proposed changes could see a reduction of 18,000 tonnes of CO2e each year and cut flight times by roughly 30 minutes.
