A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in North Amityville Saturday night by an "acquaintance" who is facing manslaughter charges, Suffolk police said.
Police responded to a 911 call shortly before 9 p.m. to a Francine Avenue address and found Robin Moscoso-Hernandez, of Bethpage, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Moscoso-Hernandez was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Homicide squad detectives arrested Bryan Ventura-Ramirez, 20, who lived in the house where the shooting took place, and charged him with second-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a firearm. The suspect was described by police as an "acquaintance" of the victim.
