A teenager was shot and killed following a fight outside of a Nashville apartment complex the night of Oct. 18.
The 17-year-old was visiting friends at Forest Park apartments in the 6900 block of U.S Highway 70 South when a fight broke out between two women. Witnesses said gunfire then broke out around 10:20 p.m. between two people who fled the scene, according to a Metro Nashville Police Department press release.
The teenager, who has not been identified by police, died at the scene. A 24-year-old who was grazed by a bullet in the gunfire denied his involvement in the shooting and was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear after being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, according to the release.
