Coles customers have been complaining about loaves of bread full of holes.

Over the past few months, photos have been shared online, showing sourdough and pane di casa loaves with large air pockets in them.

Another found mould inside a sourdough loaf just days after buying it.

It is understood the holes are caused by air pockets which can develop during production.
