SUPERIOR, Wis. (Northern News Now) - Time Arc Theatre is opening its season with “When Storms Come Calling,” a musical that dives into over 300 years of Great Lakes shipwrecks.

“When Storms Come Calling” starts with the sinking of Le Griffon in 1679, then the story of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald follows later in the play.

The writer of the play, Kathy Laakso, is a member of the “Friends of the Fitz” group that has raised money to place a Wisconsin Historical Society marker in Superior to pay homage to the SS Edmund Fitzgerald’s last port of call on Baker’s Island.
