Amazon Web Services (AWS) is experiencing a global outage impacting apps and websites worldwide. The outage, as per Downdetector started around 8am UK time with nearly 16,000 users hit, taking down other online services like Amazon, Alexa, Snapchat, Fortnite, ChatGPT, Epic Games Store, Epic Online Services, and others. Amazon acknowledged the outage, stating “We can confirm significant error rates for requests made to the DynamoDB endpoint in the US-EAST-1 Region.” The company has now updated its status page with a “potential root cause” behind the issue.
