WAYNESBURG, Ky. (WKYT) — One person is dead after a hunting accident in Lincoln County.

According to the Lincoln County coroner, 67-year-old Daniel Wilson was hunting on a relative’s property in Waynesburg on Saturday night when he was shot by a teenager who reportedly saw movement and fired a gun.

Wilson was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, where he was pronounced dead.

The coroner says investigators are still working to determine the circumstances of the shooting, including whether the teenager was also hunting or engaged in another activity on the property.

The incident remains under investigation.
