BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - The University of Vermont is raising in-state tuition for the second year in a row following a tuition freeze that had been in place since 2019.
The UVM Board of Trustees this weekend approved another 2% increase, meaning Vermonters next year will pay $16,606 for tuition.
Out-of-state tuition rose 4.5% to over $44,647.
Despite the in-state increase. UVM officials say the UVM Promise program -- which allows Vermonters in households making $100,000 or less per year to attend free -- now benefits more than 200 Vermonters each year.
